Welcome to La Vida Valley! It has been 12 years since my first blog post, and life has since thrown its share of uncertainty, sadness, and happiness. Through it all, the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve cultivated have made it all worthwhile.
Thank you for visiting
My name is Nydia O. Tapia-Gonzales. I am a journalist, poet, and painter enjoying the good life in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
I am a bilingual freelance writer available to write engaging stories for businesses and organizations searching for fresh new content to promote their services.
This blog is my personal journal, where I share life experiences, RV trips, poems, paintings, and even prayers.
I love to write about talented artists from the Rio Grande Valley. I have no editor. Most of my posts are drafts and the result of the few minutes I find between traveling and working and juggling a thousand things at a time, but this tells you I’m honest and real.
Posts are sometimes in Spanish, sometimes in English, and sometimes in Spanglish!

Through La Vida Valle, individuals and organizations have an outlet to promote events at no cost. Please click on the “Submit Your Event” tab to submit your event information, and I will post your information.
I welcome story ideas, news tips, suggestions, and feedback. Please contact me, Nydia O. Tapia-Gonzales at contact@nydiao.com
I invite you to visit my online art studio NydiaOStudio, my website about Mid-20th-Century Modernish RGVMod, and my travel and spiritual blog Cactus in the Mirror.
Last but not least, I invite you to live in a vacation state of mind.
